No. Our SimplyTip platform enables guests to tip with one tap of a credit card or mobile device or via QR code. No separate app is required on the guest’s side. For service staff and managers, Requite offers a mobile app to track tips, manage devices, and access analytics if desired.
Absolutely. SimplyTip can present a pre-configured “IdealTip” amount for a faster, guilt-free tipping experience. However, you can also choose different denominations or allow guests to enter any tip amount via QR code. This balance combats tipflation while preserving flexibility.
Not in every case. When Requite is integrated with the business's payroll provider, digital tips are treated the same as cash tips. Generally, earnings through apps (TPSOs) or third party services like Venmo, Paypal, & Cashapp are reported when they exceed a certain threshold. In 2024 that threshold was $5,000. Nothing is reported when earnings from tips are below are below the annual threshold. Requite does provide easy data exports and a 1099 microservice to streamline your bookkeeping and payroll as needed.
If Congress passes the No Tax on Tips Act (H.R. 482), Requite will update payout statements so eligible tips can be deducted!
